All I can really say, is that I hope for the best to anyone who lost the job at IGN. Losing your job always puts you in a difficult position. The economic situation at hand isn't making things easier for them to get back on their feet either. It's highly unfortunate, yet sadly, it's what IGN believes best for their company.
What is it about graphics that's so important these days? When I read the title, I expected to hear about some new gameplay mechanic or plot development that we haven't seen before. I want to hear about what this game will do different than Fallout, Bioshock or Brink (for example). Not how its graphics are "supposedly" better than game 'XXX'.
No, it hasn't.
But neither has Natal nor the Wii's motion control... I just don't see the whole craze with motion control. The only optional gaming peripheral I've ever purchased was a G27 racing wheel, a purchase (albeit an expensive one) that I was glad to make.
I might check this out for PC. It seems like a good game, just haven't heard too much about it.
I think with the whole Final Fantasy being a PS franchise things is a bit misinterpreted by some people. Yes, you could say that FF at some point has been on X360, PC, and a load of handheld & 16 bit consoles; and that's absolutely correct. But what Sony's trying to say is that it's become Synonymous with the PS brand over the year. A majority of their past (and future) major releases have been on or will be on Playstation platform.
Consider Metal Gear Solid or the Halo ser...
Between God of War III next week, the definitive Gran Turismo 5 and a host of other titles to be announced probably during E3, it'll at least be a great year for me :P
Fabulous.
with dynamic weather, day/night cycle, 2 1/2 times as many cars, WRC, Nascar, I could go on...
It really won't be hard to top Forza 3
FF is a well established Franchise, in nearly all regions of its releases. I'm more than confident that the game won't fail.
@1.1
I have a PS3 but I'm personally getting the game on PC instead. I have a GTX 260 C.216, and a C2D OC'd to 3.6Ghz, so it'll run much, much better on my PC. Plus there's the fact that fps' work best on PC (IMO).
But if you don't have a gaming class PC, get it for whichever console you prefer.
@ 7.2 Thanks for the video link. Certainly clears up the whole True 1080p HD debacle.
@7.1 There are just as many (if not more) games on the 360 which don't even run Natively at 720p so why are you attacking the PS3? Even if there's only a few true 1080p native games on PS3, as it stands, it is the only console CAPABLE of achieving that resolution natively. And it is also capable of running at 120Hz; look up 'Super Stardust HD in 3d' to see how that works.
And of cou...
Got GOWIII preordered already and gonna pick up Bad Company 2 for PC next week. But I wonder what's announced for Q2 and Q3 on PS3? I don't see too many major releases on even the other consoles after Q1.
Good review. I still gotta play this game myself; as soon as midterms are over... :/
I really hated how he called the soldier kits/abilities "perks" as if MW invented it... He spent most of the time comparing Bad Company to MW2 and dwells too much on the single-player campaign.
And yet somehow a game like Dante's Inferno was rated higher by these guys. Hmmn...
So... does this mean when these cards are out, the price of the 200-series cards will go down? Cause I'd like to upgrade my GTX 260 to a 285...
-No Install
-No load times
-Only Real-time cut-scenes
The way it should be.
Considering how well GT5P managed to sell despite its criticisms (mainly that of it being a $40 'demo') it'll be pretty interesting to see how well the full GT5 fares out...
Oooo SSR5 is the only circuit I love more than the Nurburgring.
Btw wasn't that same screenshot in the big reveal from a few months back?
So...where's the comparison screens?
Come on codemasters, just give the F1 license back to Polyphony...
